What makes Charlottesville a great place to visit? First, it's a college town, being the home of the University of Virginia, which means it has a lot of cool hip places to ranging from eateries to small shops to browse through. The downtown area is blocked off from car traffic so that you can browse and eat without worry. The downtown boasts beautiful architecture and it seems like each building offers something to discover. Events like film festivals, wine and brew festivals, studio tours of local artisans, and the Grand Illumination in December make the town a great place to do a long weekend!
